Top Drawer Thrift helps fund Project Transitions' programs. Top Drawer won the Ausin Chronicle award for Best Thrift Store in 2003. All proceeds from the sale of donated merchandise benefit Project Transitions' programs and services. It is located at 4902 Burnet Road and is open Monday- Saturday, 10am - 7pm.

Top Drawer serves the HIV/AIDS Community through the provision of store vouchers. Store vouchers for people with HIV/AIDS are distributed through HIV service agencies.

What does Top Drawer sell?

Top Drawer sells high quality clothing and other super-duper goodies.

How many people are on staff?

There are 2 full-time, paid staff members and a part-time volunteer staff of 30!

How many volunteers are working at any given time?

The store can accommodate up to 5 volunteers at any given time.

What volunteer positions are always available?

Top Drawer is always looking for volunteers to work in the store, process donations, price clothing and maintain the store.

How can I make a donation?

Top Drawer Thrift Store accepts both donations and consignments. People may drop off donations at Top Drawer Thrift Store during regular business hours. Donors may also wish to speak to the store manager about placing items on consignment in the store. All donations are tax-deductible! You may request a receipt for your donation, if you so desire, for tax purposes.

What are store vouchers?

Top Drawer offers vouchers to other non-profit agencies throughout Central Texas who serve an HIV/AIDS client base. Their clients can use these vouchers at Top Drawer for any merchandise sold at the store. Through this process, Top Drawer not only serves our own residents, but it also serves the greater community of Austin.

What annual events take place at Top Drawer?

Every major holiday brings out a special event at Top Drawer Thrift Store. Check out the store for our Valentine’s Day, St. Patrick’s Day, Easter, Independence Day, Halloween and the Winter Holidays! Top Drawer always has a slew of decorations, costumes, greeting cards and gift items.

When did Top Drawer begin?

Top Drawer was started in 1993 as a permanent funding source for Project Transitions.

Who founded Top Drawer?

Opening a thrift store was the brainchild of Board Member Sandra Martinez. Later, an entire committee was formed, and thanks to a flash of inspiration by Becky Odem, it was named Top Drawer Thrift Store!
